Meet your Secretariat

Claire Cao, Secretary-General

Hi OMUN 2025! My name is Claire Cao, and I’m so excited to serve as your Secretary General. I am a current junior and rising senior at Jesuit High School, and this will be 6th year in MUN. At OMUN, I was a delegate in Global Security, chair for Global Economy, Undersecretariat, and now Sec Gen. OMUN is an amazing way for students to solve world issues together, and it is such an honor to serve as a member of the OMUN Secretariat.

Outside of MUN, I do figure skating, mock trial, and traditional Chinese dance. In my free time, I love doing nail art, watching dramas, and going on walks. Feel free to contact me on instagram @clairexcao if you have any questions about MUN or life in general! Thank you so much, and I can’t wait to meet everyone at OMUN 2025!

Aryan Agarwal, Vice-President

Hi everyone! I’m Aryan Agarwal and I’m thrilled to be one of your vice presidents this year. I’m a current junior and rising senior at Westview High School and this will be my 4th year taking part in Oregon MUN. In the past, I have served as a delegate for the Global Security Committee, a member of the General Assembly, and as an undersecretary on last year's secretariat. I believe that MUN is a great activity for someone interested in learning more about the world while gaining vital skills through public speaking. Recently at SpringCon, I enjoyed hanging out with friends as well as meeting new people from other schools all across Oregon who also enjoy MUN as much as I do!

Outside of MUN, I love playing the guitar, chess, and swimming, and am involved in DECA and speech and debate. I also love going to concerts and discovering new music. If you have questions about OMUN or anything else in general let me know by reaching out at @aryyanagarwal on Instagram or by emailing secretariat@oregonmun.org with your questions. Thanks and I hope to see you soon at OMUN 2024!

Anya Li, Vice-President

Hi MUNsters! I’m Anya Li, a senior in the Early College High School Program cross enrolled at the International School of Beaverton, and I am so excited to be one of your vice presidents this year! This is my fourth year doing Model UN; I’ve participated as a delegate, where I won best country representative and chair for the Health and Human Services committee, a chair, and also an undersecretary. MUN has given me the opportunity to come up with so many creative solutions to real-world problems, has broadened my perspective on global issues, and I’ve met some of the coolest people who share my interests. I hope to give back all that MUN has given me by making this year’s conference better than ever!

Outside of MUN, I’m a competitive springboard and platform diver and cybersecurity nerd. I love reading dystopian novels, going for cool hikes, and thrifting. Feel free to message me any time at @anya.rings on Instagram and I’m so excited to see you all at the conference!

Anwesha Chowdhury, Undersecretary

Hi everyone! My name is Anwesha Chowdhury, and I'm thrilled to be serving as one of your undersecretaries for the 2024-2025 season. I'm from West Linn High School, and this will be my 3rd year in MUN. During my OMUN experience, I've had the privilege of participating in Health and Human Services and the Commission on the Status of Women, where I received the Best Consensus Builder Award for both committees. Global affairs has always been a huge interest of mine, and MUN has fueled my passion further by allowing me to gain a better understanding of real-world diplomacy, helped me connect with amazing delegates (such as yourselves!), and foster a better global perspective on many issues. As your undersecretary, it would be my honor to grow and share this passion with all of you, by making this year's OMUN conference the best ever!

Outside of MUN, I do Speech and Debate, Mock Trial, and Badminton. I spend my free time brainstorming new art pieces (basically scrolling on Pinterest), going on jogs, reading murder mysteries, and grinding away on Duolingo. Feel free to reach out to me anytime on my Instagram @anwesha._.c  :)  Can’t wait to see you all at the 2025 conference !

Eda Daim, Undersecretary

HEY MUNCHKINS! My name is Eda Daim, and I am thrilled to be your undersecretary! Currently, I am a sophomore and rising junior at Riverdale High School, and this will be my 3rd year in OMUN. I was a delegate in Health and Human Services where I received the Best Consensus Builder award, and served as a chair for the Commision on the Status of Women this past year. I think it's so important to have a forum like the UN where countries can communicate, and how it's equally amazing that we have the opportunity here in Oregon to have a student-run Model UN that allows us to expand our knowledge as people.

Outside of MUN, I do Mock Trial, tennis, and am the leader of the chess club at my school. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, playing piano, listening to music, and doing anything relating to fashion. If you have any questions about OMUN or anything else, feel free to reach out to me @eda_daim on Instagram. I can't wait to see everyone at the 2025 conference!

seena Nguyen, Undersecretary

Hello, my name is Seena Nguyen. I am a junior at Sunset High School and I am so excited to serve as your undersecretary. This is my 3rd year in MUN. Previously I was a delegate in the environmental committee and a committee chair for global economy. My father is a Navy pediatrician, so I have lived overseas in places such as Yokosuka, Japan, and Sicily, Italy. Being able to travel and live outside of America has deepened my appreciation for global diplomacy, opened up my eyes to life outside of America, and shaped my worldview. Outside of MUN, I love to play tennis, travel, eat good food, and listen to music. Feel free to reach out to me at @seena_xn (Instagram) if you have any questions!!

Misha Rana, UNDERSECRETARY

In the past 2 years of MUN I’ve been both a delegate and committee chair for Environment. I’ve loved every OMUN conference I’ve been to, and love that it’s such an opportunity to learn about global affairs, improve public speaking skills, and meet and interact with students from all across the state!

Outside of MUN, I do Mock Trial, tennis, and anything and everything music (singing, piano, and bassoon)! I love playing with my three bunnies, hanging out with friends, trying new foods, and both making and listening to music. Feel free to reach out to me at @mish_rna on instagram. Can’t wait to see everyone at OMUN 2025!!
